Felony stealing charges filed against two Mid-Missouri men

A California, Mo., man has been charged with felony theft for either not paying for merchandise or using altered bar codes to purchase items at a much lower price than advertised from Walmart on West Stadium Boulevard in Jefferson City.

According to court documents, Mark Evers, 26, would select items and purposefully purchase them in the check-out lane where his ex-girlfriend was working.

In a separate case, authorities have also charged a Jefferson City man with felony stealing for breaking into vehicles between July 10 and July 12.

According to court documents, Jackie Ball, 33, 310 Benton St., broke into a vehicle in the 1100 block of Moreau Drive and took electronics from inside.
