Maylee trial moved to Boone County

July 12th, 2011 in News

Joshua Maylee's triple homicide trial has been shifted from Callaway County to Boone County.

During a pretrial conference Monday in Callaway County Circuit Court, Circuit Judge Kevin Crane approved a motion by public defender Donald Catlett for a change of venue to Boone County. But no final decision has been made yet on a proposal before the court to import a jury from Platte County.

Maylee, of Holts Summit, faces three first-degree murder charges and one attempted murder charge in connection with a shooting spree Oct. 26, 2010. He is accused of killing Allen and Jackie Pinet at their home in Holts Summit and, later in the evening, Jeff Werdehausen of Callaway County.

Maylee also is charged with shooting and attempting to kill Werdehausen's wife, Gina.
