JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Missouri state park officials have reopened several state swimming beaches that were closed because of bacteria, but a beach at the Lake of the Ozarks will remain closed.
The Department of Natural Resources said Thursday that Grand Glaize Beach at the Lake of the Ozarks State Park would be closed because of high levels of E. coli bacteria. The park's other swimming beach, in Kaiser, is open.
Beaches at Cuivre (KWIH'-vur) River, Finger Lakes and Mark Twain state parks were reopened Thursday.
Elsewhere, beaches at Lake Wappapello and Wakonda parks are closed because of cleanup from flooding or storm damage. In northwestern Missouri, the beach at Lewis and Clark State Park is closed because of flooding.
