Auditor: Kinder owed more for stays

A special audit of Missouri Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder's state-paid hotel stays couldn't determine which of those were appropriate, official overnight stays and which needed to be paid for by Kinder or his political campaign, Deputy State Auditor Harry Otto told reporters Wednesday.

Kinder's electronic calendar didn't show whether events on his schedule were personal, political or official.

However, since Kinder pledged in April to reimburse state government for all of his in-state stays, the audit determined the lieutenant governor owed another $1,888.63 - which the Office of Administration said Kinder paid Tuesday afternoon.
