LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. - Fire officials fought for more than four hours to extinguish blazes that left the historic Camp Bagnell Fish and Steakhouse and a neighboring residential building in ashes Thursday afternoon.

According to witnesses, the fire started between 1:30-2 p.m. in the home next to Camp Bagnell Fish and Steak House, which is located down Old Bagnell Dam Road, between Lake Ozark and Eldon. More than eight lake area and Central Missouri fire districts, ambulance and law enforcement agencies responded to the fire.

Hannah Beezley, a worker at Camp Bagnell restaurant since May, said she arrived at 3:45 p.m. to discover the flames had been going on for about "an hour and a half."

She said the loss of the building is just devastating.
