Where large crowds are gathered at summertime events in Mid-Missouri, Planned Parenthood might be there with a few volunteers asking if people would like to sign a petition.

The small group was at Jefferson City's "Thursday Night Live," on the corner of High and Monroe streets on Thursday, pink petition cards in hand.

The group 40 Days for Life, a pro-life organization, found out Planned Parenthood volunteers would be at Thursday Night Live and decided to attend as well.

Both groups discovered they could not be inside the festival district at High and Monroe streets as they originally had planned because businesses pay to have the streets closed off like private property.
