St. Louis police ID 2 pedestrians killed by SUV

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Police have identified two people who were killed when an SUV slammed into them while they were waiting to cross a busy St. Louis street.

The victims are identified as 27-year-old Marilyn Tabb and 52-year-old Charles Thomas, both of St. Louis.

Police say the two were crossing a street in the northern part of the city when they stopped half-way across to wait for oncoming traffic to pass. Without looking, the two backed into the lane behind them and into the path of an oncoming driver.

The 44-year-old woman who was driving the SUV was not charged. Officials say it's the fifth fatal accident in the area in the last three years.
