While the tone of the night was kept at a civil level, the candidates for mayor of Jefferson City questioned their opponents about their records and qualifications to hold the office Tuesday night.

Eric Struemph, George Hartsfield and Leonard Steinman worked to make their case on why they are the best candidate to succeed John Landwehr as mayor during a forum sponsored by the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals, Downtown Jefferson City Incorporated and Rotaract Club of Jefferson City.

With a set of questions provided to the candidates before the event, the trio explored a wide variety of topics, from the best ways to revitalize Old Town to how best to handle the city's police and fire departments.
