The Jefferson City girls basketball team won its season opener 41-38 against Hickman on Monday at Fleming Fieldhouse.
Grafton Craighead led the Lady Jays with 21 points and Riley Horton finished with 15 points.
Jefferson City (1-0) plays next Monday at Rolla.
