Lindsey Vonn has won a World Cup super-G on the twisty and technical Olympia delle Tofane course.
Vonn finished in 1 minute, 11.66 seconds on Friday, 0.43 seconds ahead of Anja Paerson of Sweden. Anna Fenninger of Austria was 0.47 seconds behind in third. Julia Mancuso of the U.S. was fourth, and overall World Cup leader Maria Riesch of Germany was ninth.
The results were provisional because some lower-ranked skiers were yet to finish.
The race was originally scheduled for last month but postponed twice - first due to high winds in St. Moritz, Switzerland, and then by excessive snowfall in Val d'Isere, France.
A downhill is scheduled for Saturday before another super-G on Sunday.
