KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A 31-year-old Kansas City man with 16 prior convictions for driving without a license will be sentenced this week for a crash that killed a 12-year-old boy.

Clayton Dunlap faces a possible life sentence. He pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder, assault, resisting arrest, driving while intoxicated and three counts of driving without a valid license.

Damien Slayton was killed in March when Dunlap crashed a sport utility vehicle into a car driven by Damien's mother.

Dunlap's arrest was the third time that year officers had arrested him with allegations of PCP use and impaired driving. The case prompted judges to review how they set bonds for defendants driving on revoked licenses.

Dunlap is scheduled to be sentenced Friday in Jackson County Circuit Court.
