Two local Red Cross workers who responded to Phelps and Pulaski counties in the wake of Friday's deadly tornadoes described the devastation as overwhelming and awe-inspiring.

Beth Bauer, director of the Capital Area Chapter, and Phillip Iman, the chapter's emergency services director, both spent long days over the weekend responding to the disaster. Both previously had worked disasters, but neither had previously responded to a tornado disaster.
