The Missouri Tigers swept Big 12 Conference Player and Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season, it was announced Monday.
Junior guard Marcus Denmon was selected as the league's top player after averaging 23.0 points in wins over Northern Illinois and Old Dominion. Denmon, who played at Hogan Prep in Kansas City, also averaged 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in the contests.
It's the second Player of the Week award for Denmon this season, who also captured the honor in early December. Also that week, Ricardo Ratliffe won the Rookie of the Week award.
Matt Pressey had the top two scoring games of his career last week, averaging 16.5 points, to capture the Rookie of the Week honor. He had career-best 18 points in the win over Northern Illinois. The junior transfer from Navaro College also pulled down 10 total rebounds in the two games.
Missouri (13-1, ranked No. 8 by USA Today and No. 9 by the AP), will wrap up its non-conference schedule Wednesday night against North Alabama. Game time is 7 p.m. at Mizzou Arena.
