1 killed in small plane crash in SW Missouri

WALNUT GROVE, Mo. (AP) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says one man died when the plane he was flying crashed in southwest Missouri.

The crash was reported Monday evening in northwest Greene County about five miles east of Walnut Grove.

Walnut Grove Assistant Fire Chief Darrell Kerr says the pilot was the only person aboard the single-engine Cessna. It's not known where the plane was going or what caused the crash.

Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board are expected to join the investigation Tuesday.
