Death of man in SW Missouri labeled homicide

POWELL, Mo. (AP) - A man found dead on a rural southwest Missouri road over the weekend has been identified as an Arkansas resident.

McDonald County Sheriff Robert Evenson says the body of 67-year-old Jack McCain, of Rogers, Ark., was found Sunday afternoon on a road near Powell. An autopsy was planned to determine the cause of death.

The sheriff says the death is being investigated as a homicide.

Evenson told The Joplin Globe his office is trying to determine what McCain was doing in McDonald County.
