Murder trial rescheduled for April

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) - The trial of a Hannibal murder suspect has been rescheduled for April.

St. Charles County Judge Nancy Schneider set the new trial date of April 12-15 after consulting with public defender Todd Schulze and special prosecutor Kevin Zoellner.

Thirty-four-year-old Manuel G. Cazares is charged with two counts of second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the stabbing deaths of his former girlfriend, 27-year-old Amanda R. Thomas, and 25-year-old C. Patrick Epley. They were found dead Feb. 28, 2009, at her Hannibal home.

The case was moved to St. Charles County because of publicity in Marion County.
