Snow preparation on council agenda

Rezoning request withdrawn for now

With a single snowfall as large as many can remember from this past week's blizzard fresh on Jefferson City residents' minds, the city council will be doing its part to prepare for what is to come.

City Finance Director Steve Schlueter informed the council at Friday afternoon's brown bag meeting that the bill, which is being expedited for completion at Monday night's meeting, would provide $100,000 for the public works department to purchase more chemicals for future snowfalls.

"We have been going through them at a record pace, almost," Schlueter said.
