The snowfall has created a special concern for boat owners who use covered docks.
Don Herzing, owner of Herzing Roofing, and his crew were spending the day Thursday at the Lake of the Ozarks, clearing snow from the roofs of commercial docks.
"It's cold and breezy," he said, referring to conditions, "but at least it's sunny." His company had cleared a dock with about a dozen boat slips and was moving on to a smaller dock.
"Some of these docks are in danger of going under," Herzing said. "In some cases, its only the boats that are holding them up. We're clearing two to three feet of snow - in some cases drifts up to four feet - from the roofs."
