It was a sense of working together for the best interest of the patients that helped both local hospitals pull through the recent blizzard without any complications.
"There were no major problems, and everyone came together for the best interest of the patients," said Amy Berendzen, spokesperson for Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. "We had over 100 employees stay at the hospital. We opened a hospitality room and ensured everyone was well rested. Both patients and staff were all safe, well fed and well rested."
Heather Feeler, spokesperson for St. Mary's Health Center, echoed Berendzen's comments, saying the storm did not cause any problems at the hospital. She said everyone pulled together in the spirit of the hospital's mission.
