4 charged in kidnap, torture over $520 debt

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) - Prosecutors in St. Charles County have charged four people in the reported kidnapping and torture of a 22-year-old man over a $520 debt for a shotgun.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/rO2dPj) that two of the suspects are cousins of the victim in the Dec. 20 attack.

Authorities say the cousins went to the man's home in St. Charles and forced him at gunpoint into a vehicle, bound him with duct tape and drove him to another home. There, police say, he was thrown into the basement, bound with more tape and beaten with the butt of a gun.

The victim also said he was tortured with a multi-needle medical device that cut into his chest. The victim said he escaped when the four men left to go to a bar.
