Blood-sucking pests back at Hamilton-Dulle

December 29th, 2011 in News

Standing in front of Hamilton Towers, Alesia Brown shows what she believes to be bedbug bites she has scratched. After she notified the building manager, Brown said someone was sent out to spray her apartment, but the bugs have since returned. She said she fears both towers in the State Street complex are infested.

Bed bugs are back, though some question whether they ever left both Dulle and Hamilton Towers, located on Jackson Street.

One resident, Aleisha Brown, said the infestation is currently so bad that she and her holiday guests have been bitten.

"I am even worried to give out gifts I have. They (bed bugs) just seem to be everywhere," Brown said.

Though the towers have been treated numerous times for the nocturnal pests there is still a problem, acknowledged Allen Pollock, executive director of the Jefferson City Housing Authority.
