The 2011 Bridal Show hosted by the Jefferson City News Tribune will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel. This is the premier year for the show.
"We were approached by a number of business owners who requested the News Tribune to host a bridal show," said Jane Haslag, marketing director for Central Missouri Newspapers. "After meeting with them, we felt it was important to assist them. This show will be changed and improved each year based on the feedback of vendors and attendees."
The Bridal Show will feature 50 vendor booths representing all areas of wedding planning including florists, bridal boutiques, caterers, photographers, gift stores, tuxedo and suit stores, wedding planners, wedding and honeymoon destinations, travel professionals and reception entertainment.
The event will also feature live music and a DJ as well as a runway show and a hair show that will showcase 2012 wedding fashion and hair trends. Cash bars will be stationed throughout the venue.
"The show will be classic with an upbeat touch under the direction of Safari Sounds," said Ashton Leslie, an advertising executive for Central Missouri Newspapers. "Brides will have a plethora of information all in one location rather than spending months driving around in search of the perfect elements for their wedding day."
In addition to vendors and entertainment, brides will have a chance to win a Funjet Vacations honeymoon trip to Cancun from Travel Answers, valued at $1,500 or a $1,000 gift certificate from the News Tribune that can be used with any of the attending vendors.
"The bridal show is early in the season to give brides plenty of time to plan for their big day," said Leslie. "The $1,000 gift certificate provided by the News Tribune is a unique way to keep brides shopping with local businesses. In today's economy, it is important to help the brides with their big day, and make sure they are shopping with our booth vendors who keep our market running strong."
