St. Louis man accused of robbing nun

ST. LOUIS (AP) - A St. Louis nun is recovering and the man who allegedly attacked her is behind bars.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/u0hBtE ) reports that 24-year-old Darrell Hardin is charged with second-degree robbery, stealing a credit card and misdemeanor fraudulent use of a credit card. He is jailed and does not yet have an attorney.

Police say the nun was walking in the city's Central West End on Monday when the suspect came up behind her, struck her twice and stole her purse. He allegedly bought gasoline with one of the stolen credit cards. A tip from the service station attendant helped police track down the suspect, who was out on bond on a domestic assault charge.
