Jefferson City's Public Schools board on Monday extended Superintendent Brian Mitchell's contract by a year, to June 30, 2015.
And he'll get a 5 percent raise next year. The extra $9,475 will boost his salary to about $198,975 a year.
"We have gone over his yearly performance," Board President Alan Mudd said, "and he's done an outstanding job.
"He works hard and has made every effort to make improvements that we feel like need to be made."
Mudd said board members voiced no dissatisfaction with Mitchell's work during his first two years as the schools' chief administrator.
"That's not to say that we are where we want to be," Mudd said. "It's a work in progress ... an effort to make improvements in areas where they need to be improved."
