KC police seek man who raped 71-year-old woman

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Kansas City police say someone broke into the apartment of a 71-year-old woman and repeatedly raped her.

Police say the woman had fallen asleep in her living room Thursday night. She woke up about 7:30 p.m. to get a glass of water. When she went to the kitchen, she found a strange man there who threatened and then attacked her.

Police say that attacker took photographs during the four-hour assault.

The victim was taken to a hospital around 1:30 a.m. and treated for internal injuries.

Police spokesman Capt. Steve Young described the suspect Saturday as a black man, 35 to 40 years old, 6 feet tall, 165 to 175 pounds, bald with a goatee and mustache.
