Charges were filed Friday against an off-duty Jefferson City police officer who allegedly was involved in an October traffic accident and left the scene.

Rachael Barnard, 35, was charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, and careless and imprudent driving, all misdemeanors, by Osage County Prosecutor Amanda Grellner, who was appointed as a special prosecutor in the case.
