Four charged after drug bust

Four Jefferson City residents were charged Wednesday afternoon in connection with a drug bust that occurred Tuesday.

According to police reports, a search warrant was served at 1015 Elizabeth St. based on an ongoing narcotics investigation.

As a result of the search warrant, more than five ounces of marijuana were seized, which had been packaged for sale. Other items seized included various narcotics packaging and distribution materials and two handguns, one of which was stolen in Jefferson City.

The four and the charges filed against them are:

• Wilson Coleman, 38, of 712 Jackson St., who was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and receiving stolen property.

• Akeem Paschal, 28, of 1015 Elizabeth St., who was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Reco Lomax, 29, of 214 Schroeder Way, who was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

• Shelle Smith, 28, of 1015 Elizabeth St., who was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
