A Dent County man, who led authorities on a high-speed chase that ended in a shootout Saturday night in Jefferson City, has been charged with two counts of homicide.

Court documents show Marvin Rice, 44, Salem, was charged Monday with two counts of first-degree murder.

According to the probable cause statement from the Missouri Highway Patrol, the patrol was called around 6:35 p.m. Saturday to investigate the deaths of Annette Durham, 32, and Steven Strotkamp, 39, both of Salem.

The two victims reportedly were shot and killed in their residence, apparently dying from wounds to the torso.

Investigators reported indications of forced entry at the residence.
