There is another ally in Cole County for expectant moms.
Natile Walker was hired as the prenatal care manager for the Cole County Health Department, through a grant from the March of Dimes that funded her position for one year.
Walker, who is currently attending Lincoln University to obtain her master's degree in counseling, said her long-term goal is to open a reunification center for women and children, and this job was a great place to get started.
"I feel like this is one step closer to my goal," she said.
