Missouri's gaming commission has issued a preliminary order fining a gaming machine manufacturer $600,000 for not reporting the company's activities in Alabama.
The commission's attorney, Edward J. Grewach, says the five-member board unanimously approved the order against Bally Technologies Inc. at a hearing Thursday. The Birmingham News reports (http://bit.ly/uKI57K) the order doesn't say Bally acted illegally in Alabama, just that it didn't report certain events or activities to the Missouri commission.
Bally, a supplier of gaming machines to Missouri casinos, leased or owned electronic bingo machines used or leased in Alabama. Grewach says all gaming equipment suppliers must be licensed in Missouri.
Grewach says Bally's did get its license renewed for another year despite the outcome of the gaming commission's investigation.
