Cantorum presents Christmas concert

Traditional and modern Christmas songs and carols will be sung by Jefferson City Cantorum at its concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Miller Performing Arts Center.

"Sing We Now of Christmas" will include "Welcome Yule," "Angels We Have Heard on High," "Do you Hear What I Hear?," "Glory to God," "The Little Drummer Boy" and other favorites for children of all ages.

Cantorum's 55 singers perform under the direction of Glen Webb and are accompanied by pianist Jan Houser.

Students of Jan Houser Piano Studio will play in the atrium before the concert.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. for this year's performance.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from Cantorum members and at three businesses: Samuel's Tuxedos and Gifts, 236 E. High St.; Hawthorn Bank East, 800 Eastland Drive; or Central Bank West, 3533 Country Club Drive.

Tickets also will be available at the door before the event.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 18 and younger, and $8 for adults older than 65. A group ticket for a family of three to five is $25. Prices will be $1 higher on the evening of the performance.
