Missouri man sought after chase through cornfield

PERRYVILLE, Mo. (AP) - Authorities in southeast Missouri are searching for a man who allegedly ran over a calf and drove through a cornfield while his car was being chased by a state trooper.

The Southeast Missourian (http://bit.ly/r9rIqv ) reports that the 24-year-old suspect had no warrants but refused to pull over Tuesday on Route B in Perry County. Sheriff Gary Schaaf says a trooper for the Missouri State Highway Patrol tried to stop the driver because he suspected he was driving without a valid license because of a ticket in the past few weeks.

After running over the calf and driving through the field, the suspect fled on foot and got away.
