Helias ACT scores highest in 5 years

Helias Catholic High School's 2011 graduating class posted the highest ACT composite score of the last five years, the school said Monday.

The students earned a 23.9 - compared with a 21.6 statewide average and a 21.1 national composite.

In addition, Helias noted, 98 percent of the Jefferson City parochial school's seniors took the college-entry test, compared with 71 percent of Missouri high school graduates who took the test, and 49 percent nationally.
