Mo. phone ap estimates blood-alcohol concentration

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Missouri transportation officials have launched a new smartphone application to help people calculate their estimated blood-alcohol concentration.

The "Show Me My Buzz" phone application is free. It estimates a user's blood-alcohol concentration based on how many drinks have been consumed, how long the person has been drinking and by gender. The application also will provide a phone number for a local cab company by tapping the screen.

Officials say they hope the application will get people talking about the importance of selecting a designated sober driver who has not drank any alcohol.
