JC school tax rate stays same

School official says this may be last year without inrease

When tax bills are mailed this fall, Jefferson City School District residents for the sixth year in a row will pay $3.6770 for each $100 of assessed property value, on both their real estate and personal property.

"We are making a conscious effort to keep our tax rate the same, even though we have the legal authority to raise it," Chief Financial Officer Jason Hoffman told School Board members Tuesday night.

But, he warned, this may be the last year the district can hold that line.
