OAKLAND, Mo. (AP) - A suburban St. Louis man is dead after apparently drowning in a country club swimming pool.
Nathaniel Durfee, 47, Ladue, was spotted at the bottom of the pool at Westborough Country Club in Oakland, Mo., about 12:30 p.m. Sunday. A lifeguard pulled Durfee out and tried to save him but couldn't. He was pronounced dead at Des Peres Hospital.
Authorities say Durfee suffered from a seizure disorder. No one saw him go under water. A post-mortem exam is planned.
