HANNIBAL, Mo. (AP) - Several railcars have derailed in eastern Missouri along the Mississippi River.
BNSF Railway spokesman Andy Williams said the 124-railcar train was traveling from St. Louis to West Quincy when about 30 jumped the tracks early Tuesday 2 miles south of Hannibal. No injuries were reported.
Williams said the train was carrying a variety of goods, from particle board to wheat and flour. The train also contained four hazardous material railcars, some of which also derailed. But Williams said all of the hazmat cars were empty and none overturned.
Williams said crews were surveying the scene late Tuesday, and the cause was under investigation.
