Jays rally for win over Lakers

CAMDENTON - The Jefferson City Jays scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth and pushed across the game-winner in the seventh to rally to a 4-3 win over the Camdenton Lakers on Friday night in the first game of the Lebanon-Camdenton Wood Bat Classic.

Sean Waldrop picked up the win. He went the distance, allowing three runs (two earned) off seven hits. Waldrop struck out 13 and walked three.

Connor Acrobasso drove in the game-winner in the seventh.

The Jays were outhit 7-4 but came through with timely hits. Johnny Richert drove in a pair of runs on one hit, while Danny Eveler had one hit and one RBI. Drew Sanderson scored twice and had one hit.

The Jays (9-3) resume action in the tournament at 12:30 p.m. today against Farmington before taking on Harrisonville at 3 p.m.
