Missourians have until Monday to file tax returns

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - It is the traditional tax day, but Missourians have three more days to file their 2010 state and federal income tax returns.

The returns must be postmarked by midnight Monday instead of Friday because Washington, D.C., is observing April 15 as Emancipation Day.

The Missouri Department of Revenue is urging people this year to file electronically, double-check their math and sign their returns.

State Revenue Department officials also are operating tax help centers to answer questions in Cape Girardeau, Jefferson City, Joplin, Kansas City, St. Joseph, St. Louis and Springfield.
