Nuclear debate delayed in Missouri Senate

Sen. Robin Wright-Jones surprised some fellow senators and observers Tuesday afternoon when she didn't start the debate on the nuclear site plan bill.

But Wright-Jones, D-St. Louis, told a reporter she's not trying to stall or kill the bill that freshman Sen. Mike Kehoe, R-Jefferson City, has been pushing since December.

"I'm a complete supporter of the power plant legislation," she said. "My concern is we want to get it done.

"And I don't want to do the "Kabuki dance,' (so) I want to have some conversations with some key people, to make sure that when we do bring it up, we can get something accomplished."

Kehoe said he's working with Wright-Jones to get the bill through the Senate and on to the House.
