Since she started in January, Helen Rigdon has promised to get the community more involved in Missouri River Regional Library. And this week, the new director of the library is reaching out in a community event for just that reason.

As part of National Library Week, Rigdon is hoping the community will come by from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the library annex meeting room to meet her and enjoy some free breakfast.

"This event is just a way for the community to stop in and meet me. I am hoping they can put a face to my name and recognize me when I'm around town and can discuss any issues they might have or suggestions," she said. "I would love to be able to sit down with each person and discuss their idea of the perfect library, but that is not feasible. So this is one of the ways they can talk to me."
