Dear Editor:
We live in a wonderful country where we are free to express our opinions on any subject. I have read the differing opinions that a few people have pro and con about our country or about issues in our community.
The letter that blessed me the most, however, was one written by Ruth Yancey referencing a random act of kindness that was shown her and her husband at a local restaurant when celebrating their anniversary and a birthday. Someone overheard their conversation and anonymously paid their bill. What a wonderful example.
At my small group on a recent morning we referenced this letter. The outpouring of similar stories shows me that we, indeed, live in a loving community. I wonder what would happen if more of us publicly expressed those times when we have been the recipient of an unexpected act of kindness.
Last week some people, who barely know me, took me home from HealthPlex where my car keys had mysteriously disappeared so that I could retrieve the extra set, then drove me back so I could get my car.
Thanks, you made my day.
