The Cole County Prosecutor's Office charged a 31-year-old Jefferson City man Wednesday in connection with a Tuesday night shooting at a business on Clark Avenue.
Corey Thames has been charged with armed criminal action, first-degree assault and felon in possession of a firearm in the assault of Jeremy Tisdel, 39, of Jefferson City.
According to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement, the incident occurred at the Break Time convenience store, 627 Clark St., around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Thames was seated in a vehicle on the store parking lot when he was approached by the victim, Jeremy Tisdel, 39, Jefferson City.
An argument broke out between the two men, and Tisdel struck Thames in the face.
Thames retrieved a weapon from the vehicle's glove box, loaded the weapon, exited the vehicle and shot Tisdel three times.
Thames fled from the scene and was arrested a short time later.
