MoDOT worker hurt after being hit on I-70

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) - A Missouri Department of Transportation worker is hospitalized after being struck on Interstate 70 in St. Charles.

Authorities say a MoDOT crew was doing pothole repair on Friday when a gasoline tanker truck struck a MoDOT vehicle. The worker was struck as part of the collision and was seriously hurt. His name was not released.

The cab of the tanker caught fire but was put out. The interstate was shut down for a lengthy time in both directions, and hazardous materials workers were cleaning up leaking fuel.
