Authorities were called Tuesday afternoon to dispose of a grenade found in a Jefferson City home.
According to fire department reports, a female was cleaning out the basement of a home in the 700 block of Cardinal Street around 2 p.m. when she found what appeared to be a World War II-era grenade. The woman called the fire administration office and was instructed to keep away from the device.
