Cole County Presiding Judge Pat Joyce recently sentenced a Centertown man to seven years in prison for pleading guilty to charges in connection with a drug bust in December 2009.
Anthony Gann, 40, Centertown, was charged with attempting to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance. His sentence will run concurrent to all other sentences against him.
According to court records, the Cole County Sheriff's Department SWAT team served a search warrant at 11716 Pine St., stemming from an investigation by the MUSTANG Drug Task Force.
Seized in the raid were a large amount of drug paraphernalia, meth lab components, chemicals and equipment used to manufacture meth. This included a large amount of pseudoephedrine, which is a key ingredient for meth. Two anhydrous tanks were also seized.
In other recent court action, Judge Joyce sentenced a Jefferson City man to seven years in prison after he pleaded guilty to charges in connection with a drug deal that went bad in May.
Tamarius Johnson, 21, 206 E. Franklin St., faced numerous charges.
A police probable cause statement shows the incident took place at a residence in the 300 block of Jackson Street. Johnson was involved in a drug transaction when he struck the victim repeatedly and stole a cell phone and cash from the victim.
