A Holts Summit man has been charged with first-degree robbery in connection with Monday's bank robbery in Holts Summit.

TyjuanYoung, 47, is being held in the Callaway County Jail.

According to a Holts Summit Police Department probable cause statement, a Jefferson City police officer recognized Young from a bank surveillance photo, saying he had dealings with Young on Sunday night.

Authorities went to an address on Edmonds Street in Jefferson City, where the officer had last seen Young, and picked him up there around 5 p.m. Monday .

Young is believed to have entered Mid America Bank on Karen Drive just before 10 a.m. Monday, giving a teller a note stating "give me the money."

The teller said the robber displayed a small silver handgun.

No injuries occurred. Before the teller could give Young the money, he ran out and got away with nothing.

Authorities spent Tuesday doing more interviews and trying to figure out who was the driver of the vehicle that brought Young to the bank.

Authorities said Young told them there was not a driver, but they are still looking into this and other aspects of the case.
