Local man, 19, must wear GPS monitor for life

Cole County Circuit Judge Jon Beetem last week ordered a Jefferson City man to be placed on lifetime GPS monitoring, after the man pleaded guilty to firstdegree statutory rape.

He had intercourse with a 13-year-old female on his birthday.

Beetem's order also prohibits Jesse Amend, 19, from living in the same residence as anyone under the age of 16, and to have no contact at all with anyone under 14.

Amend also must complete five years of supervised probation.

According to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement, Amend admitted to officers that he was having sexual intercourse with the girl while living with her family.

The victim's mother reported she was aware of the activity between the two teens and called police.

The police statement said Amend told investigators there were four incidents where sexual intercourse occurred.
