Authorities look for 5 juvenile escapees

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The search continues for five juveniles who broke out of the Jackson County juvenile facility during a disturbance Friday night.

The Kansas City Star reported that the breakout happened around 8:15 p.m.

A police report released Monday says the suspects range in age from 14 to 17. Their names weren't released because they are juveniles.

A jail staff member told police that a disturbance erupted as a group of juveniles were being searched so they could return to their rooms. In the midst of the chaos, others juveniles got out of classrooms and joined the disturbance.
