KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Family and friends gathered in Kansas City for a fundraiser to help in the ongoing search for a 19-year-old student missing for four years.

Jesse Ross, nicknamed Opie, was attending a Model United Nations Conference in Chicago in 2006 when he disappeared. The 19-year-old University of Missouri-Kansas City sophomore left a downtown Chicago hotel Nov. 21 and hasn't been seen since.

The Kansas City Star reports that Ross's family continues to look for him and holds an annual fundraiser, callled OpieFest, to help pay for the search, which involves trips to Chicago to search.

At the event Friday, there were also signs of remembrance for other area missing people, including Kara Kopetsky, who disappeared after leaving Belton High School in 2007.
